When I am managing warehouses, the ability to perform a mobile stock count is very useful to me. Some programs allow you to scan and enter your stock count directly into your system. Other programs require that you manually enter the data. I prefer a solution that allows me to perform a mobile stock count which then goes directly into my software. This count then enters an authorisation check before I finally upload the data.
Because the location of my stock can be the difference between making or losing a sale, I always watch the sales vs stock locations carefully. If one store has 10 items that I cannot sell and another store sells that same item but has no stock then I will lose sales. It is a simple concept that is often overlooked. My warehouse management software should identify this situation. This will allow me to instruct my warehouse staff to rotate my stock more efficiently. My staff will then be required to locate and move my stock. Using my warehouse bin locations and a mobile device my warehouse staff can quickly locate and pick my stock for warehouse transfers. By improving this process within my business, I will ensure more efficient customer order fulfilment.
